Alaska follows the IRS guidelines on extended due dates for disaster relief victims.

Hurricane Florence:

  • Return Due Dates: Hurricane Florence victims in parts of North Carolina and elsewhere have until Jan. 31, 2019 to file business tax returns and make certain tax payments. The Alaska return is due 30 days after the federal return, meaning March 2, 2019. Payments will be due at the same time as federal.

  • Estimated Payment Due Dates: For estimated payments due on or after Sept. 17, 2018 and before Jan. 31, 2019, the federal due date is extended to Jan. 31, 2019. We follow the federal estimated payment dates, so any estimated payments due during that timeframe have an extended due date of Jan. 31, 2019. Payments requiring electronic remittance must still be remitted electronically.

Nov. 30, 2018 Earthquake in Southcentral Alaska:

  • Businesses Affected: located in the Municipality of Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula Borough and Matanuska-Susitna Borough (including tax-exempt organizations).

  • Return Due Dates: Alaska Earthquake victims have until April 30, 2019 to file business tax returns and make certain payments. The Alaska return is due 30 days after the federal return, and the Department of Revenue is allowing until May 31, 2019. Payments will be due at the same time as federal.

  • Estimated Payment Due Dates: For estimated payments due on or after Nov. 30, 2018 and before April 30, 2019, the federal due date is extended to April 30, 2019. We follow the federal estimated payment dates, so any estimated payments due during that timeframe have an extended due date of April 30, 2019. Payments requiring electronic remittance must still be remitted electronically.
